Writing a review for a sequel

I love reading series. As it gives me a chance to get to know the main characters of a book better and stay with them for a while. I definitely prefer that. Reading series is lovely, but I do have a small problem when it comes to writing a review for a sequel. Therefore I sometimes quit reviewing after the first part of a series, while I have read all of the books.

It has something to do with the fact that I don’t want to post many books of the same authors at the same time. I try not to start reading series that aren’t finished yet, which usually means that I am reading them back to back. That could be a bit boring for readers. That’s not my biggest problem though. I mean, I could write my review and then post it a little later or plan it for the next month.

Writing a review for a sequel seems to be harder for several reasons. Spoilers, for example. I don’t want to spoil things for other readers and therefore I sometimes skip parts that I would like to share. To avoid that I always mention that the review might contain spoilers it at the beginning of the post. But besides the spoilers, I don’t want to repeat myself over and over. If my connection to the main characters hasn’t changed, it’s hard to write about it. Yeah. she is a kickass heroine. So what? You don’t want to read that several times, right?

How do others deal with this? Are you dealing with the same issue? If anyone has any tips, I would love to hear them.
