The fate of ten – Pittacus Lore
Title: The fate of ten (Lorien Legacies #6)
Author: Pittacus Lore
My rating: ★★★★★
This review might contain spoilers for readers who haven’t read the first five novels of the ‘I am number four’ series yet.
Usually I don’t read series that aren’t finished yet, or at least I try not to, but sometimes I do get hooked without knowing a book is part of something bigger. That’s what happened when I read ‘I am number four’ back in 2011. I had no idea that there would be more books after the first one. Since then the Lorien Legacies have become one of my favorite series and I am always looking forward to a new book, or novella, about the Loric.
What the book is about
For years the Garde have fought the Mogadorians in secret. Now all of that has changed. The invasion has begun. If the Garde can’t find a way to stop the Mogs, humanity will suffer the same fate as the Lorien: annihilation.
There is still hope. When the Elders sent the Garde to Earth, they had a plan—one which the Garde are finally starting to understand. In the climax of The Revenge of Seven, a group of the Garde traveled to an ancient pyramid in Mexico known to their people as the Sanctuary. There they awoke a power that had been hidden within our planet for generations. Now this power can save the world . . . or destroy it. It will all depend on who wields it.
What I think about the book
Once again, this book was just awesome! This time one gets the point of view from John, Six and Ella. The story continues in both New York and Mexico, where it ended in ‘The Revenge of Seven’. Even though it has been a year since I have read that one, I got back into the storyline fairly quick.
What I love about the Lorien Legacies, is that there is not just a good side and a bad side. There’s a fine line between good and evil. So even among the good guys there isn’t just friendship, trust and love, but also betrayal, doubt and pain. That’s not that crazy, since all of the Garde have been apart for many years and they just met again. Besides, nobody is 100% good or bad so it makes the story believable.
Well, I just can’t wait for the next book, which will probably be published in August or September 2016. I want to know what will happen next, what crazy technologies the Mogs will come up with and if the Garde will finally end this war against them.
